CREATE Institute for Expressive Arts Therapy Education is hiring for part-time core faculty positions.

Who we are:
CREATE is a 3-year post-graduate certificate training program in Expressive Arts Therapy
the first in Ontario to be accredited by the CRPO (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario).
The CREATE program is designed to immerse students in an intensive, arts-based educational process that is beneficial for their professional development as expressive arts therapists, as well as for their personal and creative growth. The curriculum includes experiential, practical and theoretical training in class and as offered through the Create Community Clinic and a variety of practicum placement sites.
CREATE faculty are responsible for developing an effective learning environment for students while respecting their diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences, and individual learning styles.

    The successful candidate(s) will also meet the following qualifications:
  • Registered Psychotherapist (RP) or qualifying (RPQ) preferred.
  • Masters degree (or Bachelor’s with extensive field experience) in a related field of study that includes a theoretical understanding of the intermodal expressive arts therapy method.
  • ExAT(P)-Expressive Arts therapist/practitioner certified/qualified, skilled in the intermodal use of the arts in therapy.
  • Experience in therapeutic trauma informed, relationally oriented clinical arts-based practice gained within private practice, health agencies, hospitals, or clinics.
  • Previous involvement with post graduate adult education curriculum development and delivery.

What you will be doing:
  • Teaching one day per week for 3 hours during the academic year from September to May
  • Delivering CRPO (College of Registered Therapists of Ontario) accredited course curriculum in classroom and online as required
  • Developing and preparing teaching plans, multi-media presentations, incorporating expressive arts into the learning process where applicable in accordance with the course learning outcomes and curriculum provided
  • Ensuring student awareness of course objectives, attendance requirements, EXAT approaches, evaluation techniques and deadlines.
  • Evaluating, Advising, grading student progress/achievement and assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of the students’ work within assigned courses
  • Opportunities for RP designated faculty to be involved in the CREATE Clinic, supervising practicum students

Salary Range: Based on relevant educational qualifications and experience
