3. GENERAL GUIDELINES

These guidelines are intended to help you have a successful experience as part of The CREATE Institute community and apply to new, returning, and maintaining students:

Respectful Community Policy
The CREATE Institute is committed to building and maintaining a diverse and inclusive community where our students, staff, faculty, clients, volunteers, and visitors can work and learn in an environment that respects the dignity and worth of members of the CREATE community.

The CREATE Institute supports and promotes equity, diversity and the dignity of all people in our learning programs and services. The CREATE Institute opposes behaviour that is likely to undermine the dignity, self-esteem or productivity of any of its members and prohibits any form of discrimination or harassment whether it occurs on CREATE property or in conjunction with CREATE- related activities.

Violence Policy
Violence will not be tolerated at CREATE Institute. All CREATE community members share the responsibility to CREATE and maintain a safe and respectful environment free from violent behavior.  Weapons or replicas (anything used, designed or intended to be used to cause injury) are not permitted on The CREATE Institute premises, except where approved and used directly for a permitted educational purpose. All reports of incidents are taken seriously and investigated and responded to confidentially, to the extent possible.  Individuals who commit such acts may be subject to disciplinary action, criminal penalties, or both. In determining the appropriate response, CREATE Institute will take into account the assistance available from law enforcement agencies to optimize use of its limited resources.

Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Policy

Use of The CREATE Institute logo
Use of the CREATE Institute logo is protected by law. Modification to the logo, or use of the CREATE logo in any way which would tend to allow it to become generic, lose its distinctiveness, mislead the public, or which would or could jeopardize the value or validity, or be materially detrimental to or inconsistent with the image, goodwill, and reputation of CREATE Institute is strictly prohibited.

Perfume/Scent Policy
In consideration of students with allergies and other health challenges when exposed to fragrances, please do not wear fragrances to the CREATE Institute studio. These include perfume, natural oils or essences containing fragrances as well as other personal grooming products.

Respect and Conduct Statement
All students are expected to interact respectfully with other students, staff, faculty, directors, and the Board of Directors.  Professional communication, adherence to policies, and constructive conflict resolution are valued and essential.  We encourage respectful behavior and positive interactions at all times.  If concerns arise, please address them through the appropriate channels.

Thank you for doing your part to maintain a supportive and respectful community.
