     Pilot Position: Associate Program Director (APD)
  • The APD is a part-time hybrid (virtual/in-person) position
  • Contract: 20 hours weekly
  • Contract Term: 12-month calendar year (September 25 to August 26)

 General Job Description The APD will work closely with the CREATE Executive team: 
The Associate Program Director (APD) assists in the general administration of the CREATE program, specifically in 3 main areas:


Student Advising (Years 1-3)
  • Advising, collating evaluations, and managing the advancement of student files towards graduation
  • Responsible for Student File completion, including Practicum reports
  • Assists students in preparing their completion file for CRPO RP-Q status
Program Administration
  • Administration, coordination, and maintenance of records related to the Ministry of Colleges' educational program requirements
  • Assists in the Ministry Audit/Annual reviews of students' files
Non-Core Programming Administration
  • APD will have primary responsibility for the administration of the EXAP -Expressive Arts Practitioner Certificate program
  • Professional Development programs: Supervision 30 hr CRPO course. & Summer-Xpressions

The Associate Program Director Candidate
  1. Candidates will possess excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and team-building skills, a proven ability to lead and work well with others, and a strong commitment to the development of students and the program through the sensitivity of an equitable diversity inclusion lens.
  2. The candidate will have an aptitude for digital record keeping and experience in all Office computer programs and social media applications.
  3. The candidate should remain aware of present and future expressive arts therapy education trends and possess knowledge of current best practices in post-graduate training and faculty development.
  4. The candidate will contribute to building innovative graduate education programs that will best prepare CREATE graduates for their current and future roles in therapy, education, and leadership.
  5. The candidate will demonstrate a combination of relevant education, work experience as a clinician, educator and academic administrator and have attained a stature eligible for appointment at the CREATE Institute.
