Centre for Expressive Arts Therapy Education

The CREATE Institute offers a training program for Expressive Arts Therapists from mid-September through mid-May.

Recognized by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario

What is Expressive Arts Therapy?

Expressive arts therapy (EXAT) is a way of using the arts to help people with a variety of challenges; whether they be psychological, emotional, behavioural, or associated with life traumas, relationships or transitions. EXA assumes that everyone has the capacity to respond creatively to the situations that they find themselves in.

3-Yr Expressive Arts Therapy Training Program

The program is designed to immerse students in an intensive, arts-based educational process that is beneficial for their professional development as expressive arts therapists, as well as for their personal and creative growth. The curriculum includes experiential, practical and theoretical training in class and as offered through a variety of practicum placement sites.......More
The Create Institute is registered as a private career college under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005

"The CREATE experience is a wonderful opportunity
to stretch into unexplored territory through deep experiential learning."

Susan Leopold, CREATE graduate 2011

COVID-19    The Create Institute continues to move forward and to adapt in this difficult time. In alignment with the latest Health Canada recommendations and the information posted by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), we have moved our full training program on-line, for the present time.  The Create studio and facilities are temporarily closed and we are working remotely.
