Masters Degree Collaboration between
The CREATE Institute and the European Graduate School
The European Graduate School (EGS) recognizes The CREATE Institute as a Course Providing Partner Institute, provider of preparatory courses for the Masters programs in therapy, coaching and conflict transformation. CREATE students or graduates have the opportunity to acquire, through their course work at The CREATE Institute, EGS-recommended learning content towards their Masters degree at EGS. The CREATE preparatory courses are accepted by the European Graduate School towards the Masters program. The Create Institute itself does not award academic credit points.
In addition to their work at CREATE, students - once enrolled at EGS - must attend three 23-day summer seminars at EGS University in Saas-Fee, Switzerland, and write a thesis between the second and third summers.
The European Graduate School is a private, not-for-profit university that offers Masters and Doctoral Programs in Expressive Arts. EGS is at the forefront of research and practice in this field. EGS faculty, including founders of the field of intermodal expressive arts, such as Paolo Knill, Margo Fuchs, Sally Atkins, Markus Alexander, Melinda Meyer, Stephen K. Levine and Ellen Levine, are internationally-known and respected for their innovative and creative teaching styles. The European Graduate School offers a Master of Arts in Expressive Arts Therapy with a minor in Psychology
The degree consists of 120 cp (credit points) in ECTS (European credits), with a BA or equivalent (a BA access exam for those without degrees is possible at EGS). This is equivalent to 60 US credits.
The degree consists of six learning modules:

- Module K (Intermodal Expressive Arts) 16cp ECTS - offered at The CREATE Institute (Toronto)
- Courses in Visual Art-, Dance-, Music-, and Poetry-Therapy, and completion of first-year study program, including other weekend intensives as well as evening classes
- Module ITS-P (Interdisciplinary Approach, Methods) 21cp ECTS - offered at EGS (Switzerland)
- Module F (Theoretical Foundation and Research) 24cp ECTS - at The CREATE Institute (Toronto)
- Courses in Foundations of Expressive Arts Therapy, Life Span: Human Development, Psychopathology, Ethics, and completion of the first- and second-year study program)
- Module P (Field Work) 20cp ECTS - at The CREATE Institute (Toronto)
- Practicum - including 465 hours supervised internship, 30 hours individual supervision, 10 hours peer supervision, and 15 hours method specific training - individual EXA therapy).
- Module ITS-D (Interdisciplinary Approach, Philosophical Base & Aesthetics) 21cp ECTS - at EGS
- Module IT-3 (Examination) 18cp ECTS - at EGS
Training at The CREATE Institute satisfies the requirements for the three learning modules for advanced training at EGS.
